A Life that Touched Others

20 years ago, we entered Dr. Schenker’s office, a little timidly with our three-year-old boy whose foot turned in. Kelly, who worked there at that time, teased and loved on our little one from the beginning. She made our visits so pleasant. Later, I again encountered her enthusiasm for life when she, now married with two children, joined the homeschool group. The one time we had her and the family to our house, her humbleness impressed me as she questioned me about homeschooling. Last spring, I rode to a maple sugaring site with her and talked a bit. She didn’t feel good but had pushed through the pain to be able to spend the day with her boys. What love and devotion I saw between them that day! I wasn’t a best friend or buddy, but my life has been touched from knowing her. Can’t wait to see her again, happy, well, and whole.
