Michelle W. “Belle” Elsasser, 56, of Cocolamus, passed away with her family by her side at 6:20 a.m. on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at her residence after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Born on February 28, 1964 in Lewistown, Mifflin Co., she is a daughter of Wilson M. “Dusty” Weidner Jr. of Cocolamus and Joanne L. (Stuck) Kint and her husband Sam of Mifflintown.
Surviving her are: her husband, Douglas R. Elsasser, at home; one son, Zane A. Lauver of McAlisterville; three step-sons, Robert S. Elsasser and his wife Shawnna of Mexico, Walker D. Elsasser of Oakland Mills, and Chad Lauver of Mount Pleasant Mills.; one step daughter, Jennifer Belt and her husband James of Maryland; one brother, Scott W. Weidner and his wife Michelle of Richfield; two nieces, Amanda Ierley and her husband Joseph of York and Elizabeth Weidner of Richfield; one step-brother, Robert Kint of Lewistown; three sisters in law, Cassi Stouffer and her husband Tom of McAlisterville, Donna O’Neill and her husband Mark of Richfield, and Wendy Elsasser and her companion Clair Souder of Cocolamus; one step-grandson, Parker Elsasser; and many several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Preceding her in death are: her first husband, Craig A. Lauver; her grandparents, William and Alma Stuck and Wilson Sr. and AnnaMae Weidner; her mother in law, Sandy Elsasser; her father in law, Donald “Dutch” Elsasser; and her niece, Rachael Weidner.
Mrs. Elsasser was a 1982 graduate of East Juniata High School in Cocolamus and a 1986 graduate of Wilson College in Chambersburg.
In 1987, she started a 20 year career providing employment services to youth and adults in Juniata County. After that, she went to work for the family business where she was currently employed.
Michelle was the former Assistant Field Hockey Coach at Greenwood High School in Millerstown and the Varsity Field Hockey Co-Head Coach at East Juniata High School.
She loved all sports and outdoor activities, especially skiing, going to the beach, and running. She also enjoyed gardening, loved her dogs and all animals, and loved to work hard and play hard; however, the greatest joy she had was spending time with her family and friends.
All services will be private with interment taking place at Brown’s United Methodist Church Cemetery in Cocolamus with Pastor Jeremy Kerstetter and Pastor Glen Peachey officiating.
