Born on February 28, 1964 in Lewistown, Mifflin Co., she is a daughter of Wilson M. “Dusty” Weidner Jr. of Cocolamus and Joanne L. (Stuck) Kint and her husband Sam of Mifflintown.

Surviving her are: her husband, Douglas R. Elsasser, at home; one son, Zane A. Lauver of McAlisterville; three step-sons, Robert S. Elsasser and his wife Shawnna of Mexico, Walker D. Elsasser of Oakland Mills, and Chad Lauver of Mount Pleasant Mills.; one step daughter, Jennifer Belt and her husband James of Maryland; one brother, Scott W. Preceding her in death are: her first husband, Craig A. Lauver; her grandparents, William and Alma Stuck and Wilson Sr. and AnnaMae Weidner; her mother in law, Sandy Elsasser; her father in law, Donald “Dutch” Elsasser; and her niece, Rachael Weidner.

Mrs. Elsasser was a 1982 graduate of East Juniata High School in Cocolamus and a 1986 graduate of Wilson College in Chambersburg.

In 1987, she started a 20 year career providing employment services to youth and adults in Juniata County. After that, she went to work for the family business where she was currently employed.

Michelle was the former Assistant Field Hockey Coach at Greenwood High School in Millerstown and the Varsity Field Hockey Co-Head Coach at East Juniata High School.

She loved all sports and outdoor activities, especially skiing, going to the beach, and running. She also enjoyed gardening, loved her dogs and all animals, and loved to work hard and play hard; however, the greatest joy she had was spending time with her family and friends.

All services will be private with interment taking place at Brown’s United Methodist Church Cemetery in Cocolamus with Pastor Jeremy Kerstetter and Pastor Glen Peachey officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions in Mrs. Elsasser’s memory may be made to the East Juniata Field Hockey Boosters c/o Elizabeth Brown, 76 Elsasser Lane, McAlisterville, PA 17049 .

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 111 Westfall St., McAlisterville.

I wish to express my sincerest condolences to the friends and family of Mrs. Elsasser. God cares about your grief and tears. One Bible writer said to God: "Do collect my tears in your skin bottle. Are they not recorded in your book?" - Psalm 56:8
Remember, while the void you feel in your heart may not disappear, with God's tender help, you can cherish you memories of Michelle and you can still enjoy warm friendships and a purposeful life. And soon God will eliminate death. He wants you to be able to embrace your loved one again. Then that pain in your heart will be healed forever. The scriptures provided me and my family comfort by helping us see Gods loving plan for those who enter rest. For comfort from the Bible please visit bit.ly/Deathjworg

Many memories of such a sweet gal. She was always so kind, always smiling, giving of herself to help others, full of fun. Great coach! She was such an asset to this world. May God comfort the family and send down his love to help in the healing during this difficult time.
