THOMPSONTOWN, Bertha E. Zeigler, 73, of Thompsontown died at 5:04 a.m., Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at the Harrisburg Hospital.
Born February 11, 1939 in Delaware Twp., Juniata County she was a daughter of the late John Zeigler and the late Isabel McNaughton.
She is survived by two sisters, Virginia Colyer, of McAlisterville and Thelma Isaac and her husband Ronald, of Newville as well as numerous nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews.
Her brother-in-law, John Colyer, and a great nephew, Joshua Colyer, preceded her in death.
Bertha was a 1957 graduate of East Juniata High School, Cocolamus and later graduated from Empire Beauty School.
Miss Zeigler retired in 2004 as a Clerk and Typist from the PA Dept. of Motor Fuels, Harrisburg, after more than 56 years of service.
In earlier life, Bertha, enjoyed going to the beach and in later life she loved cats, going to Flea markets and bargain hunting. She was an avid collector of jewelry and watches; however, she always looked forward to going to lunch on Sunday afternoons with her nephew, Scott Colyer.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 22, 2012 from the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 111 Westfall Street, McAlisterville, with the Rev. Brittin F. Stimeling officiating. Interment will follow in the Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Thompsontown.
Viewing will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on, Saturday, April 21, 2012 with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
