Obituary for James C. "Clair" Allsion

James  C. "Clair"  Allsion
James “Clair” Allison, 81, of Mifflintown, passed away at 6:27 a.m. on Tuesday, December 8, 2015, at his home.

Born on June 19, 1934, in Tell Twp., Huntingdon County he was a son of the late Clair W. and Martha (Clayton) Allison. On September 13, 1958 he married his surviving wife, Rhoda M. (Cleck) Allison, with whom he was blessed to share more than 57 years of marriage.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his children: Connie J. Everitt and her husband Donald, Randy L. Allison and his wife Teresa, Gregory C. Allison, all of Mifflintown; siblings Donald F. Allison, of Shade Gap, Dean L. Allison, of East Waterford, Robert Allison, of Spring Run and Dorothy Hutchinson, of New York, 4 grandchildren, Ashley Bennett and her husband Brandon, Abby Saner and her husband Travis, Anthony Allison, Courtney Beiler and her husband Stephen, as well as 2 great-grandsons, Drew Bennett and Mason Saner.

Preceding him in death was his twin brother, Clyde W. Allison.

Mr. Allison was a member of the Westminster United Presbyterian Church, Mifflintown.

In earlier life he was employed as an ironworker and later worked for E.C. Cleck, which later became Valley Proteins, Inc. He retired in January of 2015 from Valley Proteins, Inc.

Clair enjoyed collecting antiques, helping to feed the deer and painting during the summer. His greatest joy was having his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren by his side.

A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, December 11, 2015 from the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown with Rev. Terry Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery.

Viewing will be from 7 – 9 p.m. Thursday, December 10, 2015 at the funeral home.
