Ruth B. Kauffman, 88, of Honey Grove passed away at 12:45 a.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at the Locust Grove Retirement Village, Mifflin.
Born on July 17, 1927, in Tuscarora Twp., Juniata County, she was a daughter of the late George and Sarah (Arnold) Berrier. Her husband, Glenn A. Kauffman, whom she married on June 18, 1949, preceded her in death on February 7, 2013.
Surviving are her children, Kenneth G. Kauffman, Steven R. Kauffman and his wife Margaret, all of Honey Grove, Lori A. Yohn and her husband Edward, of East Waterford, a son-in-law, George Felmlee, of Doylesburg, 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter Karen Felmlee, a grandson, Ryan Felmlee and was the last of her generation having been preceded in death by brothers, Foster Berrier, Harry Berrier, James Roy Berrier, and sisters, Alice Berrier and Isabel Gamble.
Ruth was a graduate of Juniata Joint High School, was a homemaker most of her life, who also was employed as a kitchen aid from the Locust Grove Retirement Village, Mifflin.
Mrs. Kauffman was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church, East Waterford and had been attending the South Juniata Baptist Church, Honey Grove. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, attending public sales and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 11, 2015 from the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown with the Rev. Dennis Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in the McCulloch Mills Cemetery.
A viewing will be held from 6 – 8 p.m. on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at the funeral home.
