HONEY GROVE, Robert E. “Bob” Vogel, 77, of Honey Grove died at 11:32 a.m. on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 in the Emergency Room of the J.C. Blair Hospital, Huntingdon.
Born on May 7, 1937 in Sporting Hill, Lancaster County, he was a son of the late Albert G., Sr. and Carrie (Shenk) Vogel. On December 14, 1960, he married his surviving wife, Janice E. (Geib) Vogel, with whom he shared more than 54 years of marriage.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Matthew D. Vogel and his fiancée Kim Gish, of Lebanon, siblings, Albert G. Vogel, Jr. and his wife Phyllis, Dorothy Longenecker, Carl Vogel and his wife Norma, Pauline Albright and her husband Bill, Mary Ulrich and her husband James, all of Manheim.
One sister, Bertha Summy preceded him in death.
Mr. Vogel was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church, East Waterford and he was a self-employed mason for 36 years.
Bob had a passion for the outdoors, who was an avid hunter, enjoyed cutting wood and he was a true dog lover.
A viewing will be held from 2 – 4 p.m. on Sunday, January 11, 2015 from the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown.
