McALISTERVILLE, Richard W. Troutman, 86, of Bridges at Brookline, Mifflintown and formerly of McAlisterville died at 3:30 a.m., Friday, January 11, 2013 at the home.
Born April 14, 1926 in Greenwood Twp., Juniata County he was a son of the late George R. and Charlotte K. (Ferguson) Troutman. On June 24, 1947, he married his late wife, Irene M. (Benner) Troutman, with whom he shared almost 61 years of marriage until she preceded him in death on March 31, 2008.
Surviving are his children, Wilma Fasick and her husband Mart, Larry Troutman and his wife Nancy, all of Cocolamus, Donna Potter and her husband Jeff, of Millerstown, and he leaves behind seven grandchildren as well as sixteen great-grandchildren.
One brother, Glenn M. Troutman, preceded him in death making him the last of his generation.
Mr. Troutman was a 1943 graduate of Millerstown High School and a member of Brown’s United Methodist Church, Cocolamus, where at one time he served as the treasurer for the building committee.
He had a true gift for working with wood and a passion for collecting four leaf clovers.
Richard was a lifelong self-employed dairy farmer until his retirement in 1987.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 14, 2013 from the Brown’s United Methodist Church, Cocolamus with the Rev. Candice Arnold and the Rev. Ronald Landis officiating. Interment will follow in the Goodwill Cemetery, Bunkertown.
Viewing will be held from 6 – 8 p.m. on Sunday, January 13, 2013 at the Brown’s United Methodist Church, Cocolamus.
