Obituary for Sue E. Slautterback

Sue E. Slautterback, 88, of Mifflintown, passed away on Monday, December 18,2023 at 3:05 p.m. at Locust Grove Retirement Village, Mifflin.
Born on November 1,1935 in Juniata County, she was the daughter of the late James R. and Lena Rebecca (Heeter) Britcher.
She is survived by her daughter Kathy Clark and husband, Keith, and a son G. Daniel Slautterback and wife, Barbara. Sue is also survived by a sister, Sally Rebecca Fogelman and her grandchildren Scott K. Clark, Kristen Clark Ritzman, Joseph D. Slautterback, Angela Burdge Bashore, Stacey Bell, Nicki Slautterback Fisch, Megan Slautterback Agbayani, as well as ten great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, George A. Slautterback, who passed away in 1996 and a son, James A. Slautterback.
Mrs. Slautterback was a 1953 graduate of Juniata Joint High School where she played softball and basketball and was a majorette.
Sue worked for many years at the Gordon’s Department Store in Mifflintown, where her later years she still got together with “The Gordon Girls”.
She loved to crochet and square dance. Sue was also a lifetime member of the Juniata Saddlehorse Association. From day one she was one of the first members of the Heaven Bound Church in Mifflintown.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge Street, Mifflintown at 11:00 am, with Pastor Shawn Myers officiating.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of the service.
Interment will be private at Union Memorial Gardens, Mifflintown.
Memorial contributions may be made in Sue’s name to the Juniata County Foster Adopt Group, 233 Oak Drive, Port Royal, PA 17082.
