Obituary for Marcia L. Naylor (Gearhart)

Marcia L. Naylor, 83, of McAlisterville, passed away at 8:19 a.m. on Tuesday, May 16, 2023.

Born on January 28, 1940 in McAlisterville, Juniata County, she is a daughter of the late George and Myrtle (Varner) Gearhart. On August 24, 1956, she married her surviving husband, Keith D. Naylor, with whom she was blessed to share more than 66 years of marriage before her passing.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two children, Darrell K. Naylor and his wife Shari of Thompsontown and Tina J. Craig and her husband Theodore of McAlisterville; four grandchildren, Melany Zendt and her husband Andy of Charleston, SC, Thomas Naylor and his wife Ashley of Thompsontown, Chelsie Conn and her husband Matt of McAlisterville, and Cody Sellers and his wife Alicia of Lewisberry; three step grandchildren, Ellie Massengale and her husband Andy, Ben Craig, and Quinn Craig; and twelve great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Thelma Geedey.

Mrs. Naylor began her employment at L. Shellenberger and Son Shirt Factory in McAlisterville in the late 1950’s; next, she was a Nurse’s Aide at Brookline Manor from 1977 until 1989; and finally, she provided cleaning services and child care over many years.

She was a member of the McAlisterville United Methodist Church.

Marcia loved to sing and enjoyed music, going to music events, antiquing, flea marketing, going to Florida with her husband for over 22 years to their winter home; but most importantly, she loved and cherished the time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

All Services will be private with Interment taking place at Hillside Cemetery, McAlisterville.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in Mrs. Naylor’s memory to the Dementia Society of America, P.O. Box 600, Doylestown, PA 18901; or to Aseracare Hospice Care, 100 CTC Drive, Suite 110, Johnstown, PA 15904.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 111 Westfall Street, McAlisterville.
