Obituary for John B. Lawson



John B. Lawson, of Honey Grove passed away at 12:00 noon on Sunday, January 15, 2023 at his home.
Born on January 21,1930 in Tuscarora Township, Juniata County, he was the son of the late C. Brooks Lawson and Ernestine (Krick) Lawson. On March 15, 1952, he married his late wife, Maxine E. (Campbell) Lawson, with whom he was blessed to share more than 63 years of marriage.
He is survived by his children, John C. Lawson and his wife Robin, of Reeds Gap, Amy E. Lawson, of Shirleysburg, and a brother, Robert P. Lawson.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ernest “Ernie” Lawson and Earl “Whitey” Lawson.
Mr. Lawson was a 1948 graduate of Juniata Joint High School, Mifflintown and a member of the Faith United Methodist Church, East Waterford. He belonged to the Eastern Milk Producers.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army.
In earlier life he was employed by Hempt Brothers of Camp Hill. Through most of his life he was a farmer alongside his late wife.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 20,2023 from the Faith United Methodist Church, East Waterford with the Pastor Gerald Miller and Pastor Rich Hamman officiating. Interment will follow in the East Waterford Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. on Friday until the time of service at the church.
