Obituary for Ethel L. Berry

Ethel L. Berry, 90, of Honey Grove, passed away at 12:30 AM on December 28, 2022 at Brookline Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Mifflintown.

Born on August 29, 1932 in Tuscarora Twp., Juniata County, she is a daughter of the late John and Josephine (Burdge) Henry.

On June 10, 1953, she married her surviving husband, Robert G. Berry, with whom she was blessed to share over 69 years of marriage before her passing.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Ken Berry and his companion Teresa Milliken of Honey Grove, Robin Swartz and her husband Andrew of McAlisterville, and Karen Ford of Lewistown; five siblings, Mary Parson and her husband Carl of Honey Grove, Jean Henry of Mifflin, Robert Henry and his wife Delores of Honey Grove, Gloria Hardy of Mifflin, and Rose Walker and her husband Dan of McVeytown; two grandchildren, Danny Berry and Dr. Turner Swartz; one step granddaughter, Hillari Ayers; two great grandchildren, Braxton Bender and Braylynn Berry; and many generations of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Jessica Ford; and two brothers, Dale Henry and Howard “Bunt” Henry.

Mrs. Berry was employed and retired as a Monitor for Lack Tuscarora Elementary School in Honey Grove and was a member and had attended the former McCoysville Presbyterian Church.

She enjoyed gardening, being outdoors, shopping, going out to eat, watching game shows, and activities and playing with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 from the South Juniata Baptist Church, 3647 Smokey Hollow Road, Honey Grove with Pastor Caleb Burd officiating. Interment will follow at the McCulloch’s Mills Cemetery, Honey Grove.

A public viewing will be held from 9:30 AM until the time of the funeral services at 10:30 AM on Wednesday at the church.
