Obituary for Kay S. Eagler (Stuck)

Kay S. Eagler, 81, of Thompsontown, passed away at 5:09 PM on Sunday, December 11, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her family.

Born on November 22, 1941 in Delaware Twp., Juniata County, she is the daughter of the late Edward R. and Alda (Hartzell) Stuck.

On July 7, 1963, she married her surviving husband, Donald S. “Butch” Eagler, with whom she was blessed to share over 59 years of marriage before her passing.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughters, Ann M. Shambaugh and her husband Jeffery of Thompsontown and Krista D. Varner and her husband Shane of Mifflintown; and two granddaughters, Callan M. Shambaugh and Marin S. Varner.

Kay was a 1959 graduate of East Juniata High School in Cocolamus and a 1961 graduate of Central Penn College in Summerdale.

Mrs. Eagler was employed and retired as a Medical Secretary with over 37 years of service to the Magill Rumbaugh Practice which later became the Newport Family Practice.

Her memberships included the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Thompsontown and the Antique Automobile Club of America in Hershey.

She enjoyed traveling with her husband, especially in the winter time when they would head south, attending her grandchildren’s sporting events, car club outings, and spending time with her family and friends.

Memorial Services will take place at 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 17, 2022 at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 19 N. Mill St., Thompsontown, with the Rev. Michael Sigler officiating. Interment will be private and take place in Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Thompsontown.

There will be no visitation.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mrs. Eagler’s memory can be made to the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 19 N. Mill St., Thompsontown, PA 17094.
