Obituary for Eleanor J. Goshorn
Eleanor J. Goshorn, 88, of the Celebration Villa, Reedsville, passed away at 9:17 a.m. on Thursday, November 3, 2022, at the Villa.
Born on September24,1934 in Dublin Township, Huntingdon County, she was a daughter of the late James G. and Ethel M. (Gregon) Crull. On June 26,1954 she married her late husband Clair W. Goshorn with whom she was blessed to share more than 60 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on March 25, 2015.
Surviving are a son, Wendell C. Goshorn, of McConnellsburg, 2 granddaughters, Tonya Goshorn, Amanda Black, and 10 great-grandchildren, Eleanor Goshorn, Hailey Lane, Kameron Lane, Liberty Lane, Ariel Black, Lilly Maden, and Tyson Maden, Gracie Maden, Harper Taitt and Opal Taitt.
Mrs. Goshorn is a member of the Arch Rock United Methodist Church and at one time was a member of the Richvale United Methodist Church where she helped with bible school, the children’s programs, and all the meals of the church. She was a former volunteer with the Gray Ladies of The Red Cross and she was a member of the Mifflintown Four Seasons Senior Center. She and her late husband enjoyed volunteering for Locust Grove Retirement Village.
She was a homemaker and worked alongside her husband on the family farm.
In 1952 she graduated from Orbisonia High School and she loved going to yard sales with her late husband. Eleanor will long be remembered for being a terrific baker and always willing to lend a helping hand.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2022, from the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown with Pastor Gerald Miller officiating. Interment will follow in the Book Cemetery, Shade Valley.
Viewing will be 10:00 a.m. until the time of service, Saturday at the funeral home.
