Obituary for Verna G. Hosler





Verna G. Hosler, 73, of Mifflintown, passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at Locust Grove Retirement Village, Mifflin.

Born on December 11, 1948 in Lewistown, Mifflin County, she was a daughter of the late Ralph Amey and Edna (Haubert) Singer.

She is survived by one son, Brian L. Pannebaker of McAlisterville; one step son, P. Ted Pannebaker and his wife Sandy of Maze; one step daughter, Stephanie Pidgeon of Port Royal; one sister, Judy Benner of Maze; one brother, Ralph Amey and his wife Helen of East Waterford; one granddaughter, Jordan N. Pannebaker of Richfield; and one step granddaughter, Sierra Pidgeon of Port Royal.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul F. Pannebaker; her second husband, Ronald Hosler on October 16, 2021; her step father, Charles Singer; and one step son, Benjamin “Ben” Hosler.

Verna was a 1967 graduate of East Juniata High School in Cocolamus and was employed and retired as a Machine Operator at Empire Kosher, Inc. in Mifflintown.

In earlier life, she attended Living Water Christian Fellowship in Mifflin, was very active as an EMT with the Fayette Township E.M.S., and enjoyed cooking.

Memorial Services will be held at 6:00 PM on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 111 Westfall St., McAlisterville with the Rev. Gary Krabill officiating. Interment will be private and take place at Maze Cemetery.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until the time of the Memorial Services at 6:00 PM on Thursday, August 4 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mrs. Hosler’s memory can be made to her son, Brain L. Pannebaker, 117 Swales Road, McAlisterville, PA 17049.
