Obituary for Steven L. "Steve" Zook

Steven L. “Steve” Zook, 77, of Mifflintown (Licking Creek), passed away at 5:30 AM on Friday, July 15, 2022 at Geisinger Lewistown Hospital.
Born on September 12, 1944 in Lewistown, Mifflin County, he is the son of the late Chester and Stella (Showers) Zook.
On December 7, 1972, he married his surviving wife, Carol R. (Wileman) Zook, with whom he was blessed to share over 49 years of marriage before his passing.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Christine Wolfgang and her husband Donnie of Richfield, Steven L. Zook, Jr. of Harrisburg, Stephanie Dalton and her husband Fred of Port Royal, Rocky Lane and his wife Pam of Mount Union, Robin Gearhart; one sister, Nancy Colyer of Mifflintown; twelve grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Jackie Berrier and a brother, Tom Zook.
Steve was a proud U.S. Army Veteran, honorably serving his country during the Vietnam War.
In earlier life, he was employed in the Logging industry and later at Juniata Tire Sales before his retirement.
He enjoyed fishing, especially from his boat around dams, watching the Philadelphia Phillies and the Philadelphia Flyers.
Public Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 21, 2022 from St. Stephen’s Lutheran Cemetery, Licking Creek with the Rev. Judy Rowles officiating and where the Juniata County Veterans Council will accord full military burial honors.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mr. Zook’s memory can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
