Obituary for Dale E. Henry



Dale E. Henry, 82, of Mifflintown (Licking Creek), passed away at 1:43 AM on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at his residence.

Born on April 15, 1940 in East Waterford, Juniata Co., he is a son of the late George and Grace (Swarner) Henry.

On July 2, 1961, he married his surviving wife, Madilene M. (Zimmerman) Henry with whom he was blessed to share over 60 years of marriage before his passing.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Sharon Miller and her husband Dennis of Mifflintown, Wendy Kirk of Port Royal and her late husband, Steve Kirk, Ken Henry and his wife Michelle, and Angie Dunn and her husband Darrin, all of Mifflintown; two sisters, Mildred Clouser Clark of Pittsburgh and his twin sister, Doris Henry Armstrong of Mifflintown; two sisters in law, Pauline Clouser of Chambersburg and Cookie Junod and her husband Robert of Mifflintown; seven grandchildren, Mandy Martin and her husband Justin, Cory Miller and his wife Nykki, Chad Kirk and his wife Teagan, Caleb Kirk, Brittany Casner and her husband Nicholas, Benjamin Dunn and his wife Gloria, and Courtney Dunn and her fiancé Dr. Lars Bogar; six great grandchildren, Madison Reinecker and her husband Joshua, Christopher Martin, Joshua Martin, Rory Kirk, Colton Dunn, and Cameron Dunn; and many generations of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Clouser; one sister, Arlene Clouser Dutton; and three brothers in law, James Clark, Jay Armstrong, and Elmer Dutton.

Dale was a 1958 graduate of Juniata Joint High School in Mifflintown and was employed and retired as a Manager for Juniata Concrete Co.

Mr. Henry was a member of St. Stephen’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Maple Grove Sunday School, both in Licking Creek.

He enjoyed woodworking, was an avid hunter and fisherman; however, he will be remembered for being a family man whose children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were his world and proudly attended all of his family’s activities, sporting events, and music events.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, July 16, 11:00 a.m. at St. Stephens Lutheran Church, with Rev. Rciard Adams officiating. There will be a visitation at 10:00 a.am. until the time of the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mr. Henry’s memory can be made to Maple Grove Sunday School, 6507 Licking Creek Road, Mifflintown, PA 17059.
