Obituary for Karen L. Strawser



Karen L. Strawser, 55, of Mifflintown, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her family.

Born on January 25, 1967 in Lewistown, Mifflin County, she is the daughter of Richard Lee and Betty Mae (Brubaker) Strawser.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by: two sisters, Pamela Strawser of Mifflintown and Cynthia Burd and her husband Miles Jr. of Thompsontown; one niece, Jessica Strawser of Thompsontown; and one great nephew, Callonn Ranck of Thompsontown.

Miss Strawser was a 1988 graduate of Juniata High School and was a member of the Bunkertown Brethren Church in McAlisterville.

Earlier in life, she attended ARC and afterwards, she attended Skills in Mifflintown.

She enjoyed bike riding, swimming, attending Greene Hills Camp in her younger years, listening and singing to music, including her favorite songs, “Kumbaya” and “Michael, row your boat ashore,” watching TV, especially her favorite shows, Hee-Haw, The Dukes of Hazard and Sesame Street where the Cookie Monster and Big Bird were her favorite characters.

Karen will be remembered for her infectious smile and laughter by all that knew her.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 111 Westfall St., McAlisterville with Pastor Wes Stahl officiating. Interment will be private.

A viewing will be held from 2:00 PM until the time of the funeral services at 3:00 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
