Obituary for Carol R. Tanner
Carol R. Tanner , 84, of Mifflintown, passed away at 1:03 a.m., Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at the Geisinger Lewistown Hospital.
Born on May 2, 1937 in Lewistown, Mifflin County, she was the daughter of the late William Darrell and Ruth Janette (Deen) Tanner.
Carol is survived by her brother, Dallas D. Tanner and wife Joyce of Strodes Mills; and a sister, Janice A. Kehler and husband Stuart of Port Royal.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Beatrice S. Ehrenzeller; and a brother, Douglas A. Tanner.
Ms. Tanner was a graduate of the Juniata Joint High School in Mifflintown and the Lancaster General School of Nursing.
She was a Licensed Practical Nurse for over thirty years having worked at Lewistown Hospital and various other nursing homes.
She attended the Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Mifflintown where she loved working with children and teaching Bible School and Sunday School, however, she cherished all Church activities in general.
Carol loved all of her generations of nieces, nephews, and cousins. They all were very special to her.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at the Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 109 N. Third St., Mifflintown with Pastor Mindy Petrovcic officiating. Interment will follow in the Academia Cemetery.
A viewing will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral services at 11:00 AM on Tuesday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ms. Tanner’s memory can be made to the Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 109 N. Third St., Mifflintown, PA 17059.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown.
