Obituary for Connie J. Loudenslager

Connie J. Loudenslager, 75, of Mifflin, passed away at 3:35 PM on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her family. She left this Earth and walked into the arms of her Savior after a valiant battle with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis and Lung Cancer.
Born on July 20, 1945 in Belleville, Mifflin Co., she is a daughter of the late Arthur and Charlotte (Young) Powell.
On March 30, 1970, she married her surviving devoted husband, Stephen B. Loudenslager with whom she was blessed to share over 51 years of marriage.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by: her children, Bryan T. Loudenslager and his wife Brenda of Nacogdoches, TX, Amy B. Felmlee and her husband Mark of Lewistown, and Jaimee L. Stimely and her husband TJ of McVeytown; ten grandchildren, Haley, Chance, Dylan, Alyssa, Blake, Maddyson, Ty, Logan, Adysson, and Mya; one great grandson, Weston and one great grandchild on the way; and her former daughter in law, Nanci L. Aumiller of Mifflintown.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded by one son, Ryan K. Loudenslager on January 12, 2014; her stepfather, Fern Russler who helped to raise Connie and her siblings; one sister, Bonnie K. Armstrong; and one brother, Charles R. “Bud” Powell making her the last of her generation.
Connie was a 1963 graduate of Kishacoquillas High School in Reedsville and held various jobs over the years and lastly employed and retired from Perfection Cleaning in McAlisterville. She believed strongly that cleanliness is next to Godliness and would easily spot a dust ball from 10 yards away.
She was a member of the Good News Lutheran Brethren Church in McAlisterville.
Her hobbies included acrylic painting, camping, watching golf, and watching her grandchildren play sports, but what she cherished and what defined her most was her role as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She had a growing and maturing faith in God and her trust in Jesus Christ sustained her until it was time to go home.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 21, 2021 from the Good News Lutheran Brethren Church, 32868 Route 35 North, McAlisterville with Pastor Michael Edwards officiating. Interment will follow at Union Memorial Gardens, Mifflintown.
A public viewing will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral services at 11:00 AM on Monday at the church.
