Obituary for Gerald H. Porr Sr.
Gerald Henry Porr Sr., 80, of Mifflintown, passed away peacefully in the presence of loving family on Monday, June 14, 2021. He was born February 1, 1941 in Highspire, son of the late John and Deana Porr.
He is preceded in death by his cherished wife, Nancy Lou Porr (Trace) with whom he shared nearly 56 years of marriage. He is survived by his children, their spouses and companions, Gerald H. Porr Jr. (Jamie Jackson) of York PA, Paul A. Porr (Brenda) of Mifflintown, Bonnie J. Balmer (Dale) of Lebanon, PA, Brian K. Porr (Katrina Chajkowski) of Camp Hill, PA, Dean E. Porr (Kim) of Steelton, Thomas S. Porr (Bobbi) of Harrisburg, PA, Michael D. Porr (Kristen) of Kratzerville; his brothers Fred Porr of Dauphin, PA and Richard Porr of Elizabethtown; 23 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
He was a retired truck driver for New Penn and enjoyed his retirement years witnessing to others about his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, watching football and spending time with family and friends. He was a member of Thompsontown Baptist Church.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 3, 2021 at the Thompsontown Baptist Church, 269 Birch Drive, Thompsontown, PA 17094 with Pastor Don Henrikson officiating. Interment will be private.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 111 Westfall St., McAlisterville.
