Obituary for Thelma P. Dumm



Thelma P. Dumm, 86, of Mifflintown (Arch Rock), passed away at 7:10 AM on Monday, June 14, 2021 at the Locust Grove Retirement Village in Mifflin.

Born on August 5, 1934 in Lewistown, Mifflin Co., she is a daughter of the late Richard Lee and Lottie Mae (Boop) Powell.

On March 25, 1969, she married her surviving husband, Richard L. “Dick” Dumm with whom she was blessed to share over 52 years of marriage.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by: her children, Timothy C. Warner and his wife Tracey J. of Mifflintown and Robin L. LeClerc and her husband Joseph of Port St. Lucie, FL; her step children, Debra Pennington and Richard L. Dumm Jr. and his wife Tonya, all of Lewistown; four grandchildren, Joshua Warner and his wife Diana, Rachel Warner and her companion Mitchell Henderson, Jack Daniel Mixon, and Jesse LeClerc; three step grandchildren, Alison Goss and her husband Matthew, Brooke Peters and her husband Trey, and Rayna Pennington; four great grandchildren and three step great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her siblings, Sylvia Wolfe, Joan Rodgers, Lois Dumond, Charlotte Cummings, Danny Powell, Richard Powell, and David Powell making her the last of her generation.

Thelma was a 1952 graduate of Lewistown Area High School and in earlier life was employed with the American Viscose Corporation in Lewistown.

She was a member of the New Bloomfield Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Her hobbies included teaching tole (decorative) painting to many area senior citizens, making quilts, baking, an avid flower gardener, and in earlier life, enjoyed fishing; however, her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 17, 2021 from the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown with Bishop Jeremy Wilt officiating. Interment will follow at Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery, Mifflintown.

A public viewing will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral services at 11:00 AM on Thursday at the funeral home.
