Born on May 8, 1940 in Bellefonte, Centre County, she is a daughter of the late Miles Porter and Eva Ethel (Watson) Stauffer.

On November 14, 1958, she married her surviving husband, the Rev. Marlin K. Stahl with whom she was blessed to share over 62 years of marriage.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by: her seven sons and their spouses, Miles Stahl and his wife Jen, Joe Stahl and his wife Deb, Ron Stahl and his wife Crystal, Ben Stahl and his wife Vicki, James Stahl and his wife Melissa, Pastor Wes Stahl and his wife Vickie, and Steve Stahl and his wife Amy; forty grandchildren and their spouses, and thirty nine great grandchildren; siblings, Janice Hawthorne and her husband the late Donald, Doyle Stauffer and his wife Jane, Twila Newman and her husband the late George, Randy Stauffer and his wife Carol, Robert Stauffer and his wife Pat, Kathleen Sherman and her husband Dennis, Joseph Stauffer, Timothy Stauffer and his wife the late Wanda, and Earl Stauffer; and many generations of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Rodney Stauffer and Thomas Stauffer.

Myrna Jean was a 1958 graduate of Bald Eagle Area High School and loved being a lifelong Pastor’s wife and homemaker.

First and foremost, her family was extremely important to her. As the family Matriarch, she loved to cook and serve meals for her entire family when they were gathered together. Whenever the family would gather, you would also find her at the piano where she would play, sing, and cherish the time, especially when the children or grandchildren would join her.

Mrs. Stahl was an accomplished musician and was known as “a Singer's Musician.” Her musical talents gave her the ability to play at least a dozen instruments such as the piano, organ, guitar, harmonica, harp, violin, banjo, accordion, and other instruments. She was well known as an accomplished pianist and served as the constant Church Pianist for the congregations her husband had served throughout their years of ministry together.

She was a poet, story writer, story teller, a youth leader, children’s Sunday School Teacher, and choir director; however, she will be remembered by her family as a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and most importantly, as a Godly woman.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 from the Bunkertown Brethren Church, 52 Bunkertown Road, McAlisterville with her son, Pastor Wes Stahl officiating. Interment will follow at the Goodwill Cemetery, Bunkertown.

A public viewing will be held from 5-7 PM, Tuesday, June 1, 2021 and from 9 AM until the time of the funeral services at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, all being held at the Bunkertown Brethren Church.
