Obituary for Norman C. "Dump" Kistler

Norman C. “Dump” Kistler, 78, of East Waterford, was called home to be with the Lord and to rejoin his late wife at 6:10 a.m. Sunday, May 9, 2021 at his residence surrounded by family.

Born January 17, 1943 in Loysville, Perry County, he is a son of the late Robert P. and Charlotte A. (Swailes) Kistler. On April 20, 1995, he married his late wife, Marjorie E. “Monie” (Casner) Kistler with whom he was blessed to share 22 years of marriage, before she preceded him in death on October 9, 2017.

Surviving him are one daughter and four sons; one brother, Robert and his wife Linda of Carlisle; two sisters, Jenny Gonsor and Tori Micheal, both of Carlisle; and many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one brother, Paul.

He was employed by the Loysville Youth Detention Center from 1973 until his retirement in 2003.

Mr. Kistler honorably served our country in the United States Army from 1964 until 1966.

Dump was an avid hunter, loved watching NASCAR, and especially loved dirt track racing. When he wasn’t busy at the races, he loved spending time with his family and attending turkey shoot matched in Blain.

He will be remembered for his kind heart who would help anyone, and as a great father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

All Services will be private.
