Norma P. Book, 91, of Port Royal, passed away at 4:55 a.m. Friday, April 23, 2021 at the Locust Grove Retirement Village, Mifflin.
Born July 17, 1929, in Beale Township, Juniata County, she is a daughter of the late G. Norman and Mary (Robinson) Moyer. On August 19, 1949 she married her late husband, Edmund K. Book whom she was blessed to share 46 years of marriage, before he preceded her in death on November 25, 1996.
Surviving are her children; Patricia K. Stong and her husband William Sr., of Honey Grove, Norman E. Book and his wife Barbara, of Port Royal; six grandchildren, William Stong, Jr., Jason Stong and his wife Amy, Joshua Stong and his wife Amy, Lucas Book and his wife Elizabeth, Gabriel Book and his wife Emily, and Rachel Shepler and her husband Terry; eight great-grandchildren, Willow Stong, Olivia Stong, Eli Stong, Ethan Stong, Lucas Book, Jackson Book, Amelia Book, and Nora Book; and many generations of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, two sisters, Catharine “Kate” Clark and Betty M. Simonton, preceded her in death making her the last of her generation.
Norma was a 1946 graduate of Juniata Joint High School in Mifflintown and was a member of the Lower Tuscarora Presbyterian Church in Academia where she occasionally played the organ and was involved in the Helping Hands of the church.
Mrs. Book was a homemaker who worked along the side of her late husband, owning and operating the family farm.
Her main interest was her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
All Services will be private with interment taking place at the Academia Cemetery.
The family will provide all funeral flowers and kindly ask that memorial contributions in Mrs. Book’s memory be made to the Lower Tuscarora Presbyterian Church, 54 Church Road, Mifflin, PA 17058.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown.
