Obituary for Wilma J. Best

Wilma Joyce Kint Best, 90, of Honey Grove, passed away at 4:35 p.m., Friday, March 26, 2021, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born August 8, 1930 in a stone house along the former Tuscarora Valley Railroad and Route 850 in Honey Grove. She was the daughter of the late George M. and Phoebe (Gray) Kint.

On January 3, 1948 at the Corpus Crista Catholic Church in Chambersburg, she married her late husband, Francis W. Best of Doylesburg, with whom she was blessed to share more than 58 years of marriage, before he preceded her in death on April 12, 2006.

To this union, the following children survive: Harry G. “Butch” Best, Daryl L. Best and wife, Ginger, Frances E. Bilger and companion Jerry O’Donnell, Bobby Kay Noss and husband, Steve, Patrick K. Best, Lynne Ann Best, all of Honey Grove, and Alison R. Ziegler and husband, James of Port Royal; thirteen grandchildren, Michael, Roger, and Adam Bilger, Alan Noss and Lindsay Parson, Rachael Lauver, Nathan and Nicholas Zeigler, Scott Best and Lydia Imes, Tyler and Macauley Best, and Clayton Kilmer; and many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 2 children, Charles Best and Patti Ann Best; a brother, Alton “Aukie” Kint; and a sister, Helen Henry.

She was a 1947 graduate of Juniata Joint High School in Mifflintown.

Public graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 30, 2021, from the McCulluch’s Mills Cemetery, Honey Grove with the Rev. Judy Rowles officiating.

There will be no public viewing or visitation.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mrs. Best’s memory can be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
