Obituary for Carol R. Waite (Shellenberger)

Carol R. Waite, 81, of Mountain Top, formerly of Selinsgrove, passed away at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 19, 2021 at the Commonwealth Health Wilkes-Barre General Hospital in Wilkes-Barre.

Born on June 2, 1939 in Fayette Twp., Juniata County, she is a daughter of the late Palmer M. Shellenberger and Juniata J. (Schell) Shellenberger-Querry.

Her husband, Paul R. Waite, Sr., with whom she was blessed to share over 50 years of marriage, preceded her in death on May 23, 2018.

She is survived by: sons, Brian K. Waite; grandchildren, Abigail and Meghen; Paul Waite Jr. and his wife Kathy; grandchildren, Stephanie and Katana; Craig Waite; daughters, Karen McFadden and her husband William; grandchildren, Christy, Jill, Hillary and Sarah; Carol Lobrano and husband Wyatt; grandchildren, Erica and Ryan, as well as 12 great grandchildren; siblings, Phyllis M. Pellman of Mifflintown, Robert H. Shellenberger and his wife Gloria of Thompsontown, Palmer W. Shellenberger and his wife Susan of Carlisle, and Kay I. Lukens and her husband Harold of Thompsontown; and many generations of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Angie; her step father, Russell Querry; and four siblings, C. Richard Shellenberger, Marian Strawser, Helen Sellers, and Danny Shellenberger.

Carol was a graduate of East Juniata High School in Cocolamus and was employed and retired as a Bank Manager with PNC Bank.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 26, 2021 at St. John’s United Methodist Church, 144 Red Bank Road, McAlisterville with Pastor Kevin Brophy officiating. Interment will follow in the Troxelville Union Cemetery.

A viewing will be held from 1:00 PM until the time of the funeral services at 2:00 PM on Friday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mrs. Waite's memory may be made to the Special Olympics, 527 Center Street, Milton, PA 17847.
