Phyllis worked at Standard Steel for a number of years, becoming a homemaker when her children were young. She also worked at Ohesson Manor for many years, retiring in 2001. Phyllis and her family lived briefly in Waynesboro, but Phyllis always held Lewistown dearly as her first home and maintained many childhood friends from Lewistown throughout her whole life.
Phyllis attended the Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Mifflintown, and she enjoyed braiding rugs, yearly vacations at Rehoboth Beach, card club, and spending time with her dear friends and family.
In her retirement, Phyllis spent many hours volunteering at the Goodwill store in Lewistown. Her family and the many friends and acquaintances she made throughout her life will remember her well for her humor and generosity.
Because of COVID-19 restrictions, there will be a private service for close family members only. A celebration of Phyllis’s life will be held at a later time when we can all safely gather outside.
