Obituary for Ronald D. Zimmerman



Ronald D. Zimmerman, 78, of Mifflintown passed away at 10:42 a.m., Friday, February 5, 2021 at his residence.
Born on March 19, 1942, in Lewistown, Mifflin County, he was a son of the late Calvin D. “CD” “Caddy” and Alma L. (Rickenbaugh) Zimmerman.
Surviving are: his children, Robin A. Saner, Mark A. Zimmerman,and companion Neanndra both of Mifflintown; two brothers, Calvin E. “Cook” Zimmerman and his wife Pamela, of State College, W. Edwin “Ed” Zimmerman and his wife Carla, aunt Helen “Ditty” Guss all of Mifflintown and he leaves behind three grandchildren, Cody Saner, Samantha “Sam” Saner and Tanner Zimmerman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Christopher S. “Beanie” “Zimmie” Zimmerman on September 28, 2008 and a brother, Robert P. “Bob” Zimmerman on October 15, 2012.
Ron was a graduate of Juniata High School, Mifflintown who enjoyed watching Jeopardy, playing solitaire, talking on the phone, attending the Stop 35 breakfast club, telling jokes good or bad, traveling to his home in Utah and spending time with his family and friends.
Mr. Zimmerman was the President and CEO of Zimmerman Truck Lines, Mifflintown. He also was instrumental as a founding member of the local landmark Stop 35, Mifflintown where he had served as the General Manager at one time.
There will be a virtual Funeral service, via live stream on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 12 noon with the Pastor John Walters officiating from the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown. A public graveside will follow the virtual service on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in the Union Memorial Gardens, Mifflintown.
