Obituary for Jonathan E. Boyer
Jonathan E. Boyer, 81, of Port Royal, passed away at 9:15 PM on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at the Bridges at Brookline, Mifflintown.
Born on June 20, 1939 in Port Royal, he is the son of the late Edwin and Myrna (Book) Boyer.
On January 31, 1959, he married his late wife, Beatrice E. (Wagner) Boyer, with whom he was blessed to share over 50 years of marriage before her passing on October 4, 2009.
He is survived by his children, Peggy “Maggie” J. West and her husband Neal of Harrisburg, Amy L. Feltman and her husband Dean of Millerstown, and Paul D. Boyer and his wife Stephanie of King George, VA; nine grandchildren, Christopher, Amanda, Ashley, Sarah, Victoria, Jeremy, Josh, Justin, and Timothy; and thirteen great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one son, Jon C. Boyer; one brother; and one sister making him the last of his generation.
Jonathan was a 1957 graduate of Tuscarora Valley High School, Port Royal and was employed and retired as a Line Foreman with Sanyo (formerly Fisher Electronics).
Mr. Boyer was a member of the First Baptist Church of Juniata County and enjoyed hunting, gardening, watching sports, especially the Philadelphia Phillies, and reading his bible; however, his family and his church were the two most important things in his life.
Public Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, February 4, 2021 from the Lind Memorial Cemetery, Lewistown with his son in law, Neal West officiating.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, facial masks and social distancing will be required at the graveside services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mr. Boyer’s memory can be made to the Port Royal EMS, P.O. Box 265, Port Royal, PA 17082.
