Obituary for Patricia C. Reid



Patricia C. “Pat” Reid, 80, of the Masonic Village, Elizabethtown, and formerly of Mifflintown passed away at 10:07 p.m. on Friday, January 22, 2021 at the Village.

Born on July 10, 1940 in Williamsport, Lycoming County she is the daughter of the late Paul and Elaine (Roberts) Crossley. On February 16, 1963 she married her late husband Charles R. “Charlie” Reid with whom she was blessed to share more than 56 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on April 4, 2019.

Surviving are: two daughters, Christina Harrison and her husband David, of Harrisburg, Amy Benner, of Newport and son-in-law Dan Benner, of Thompsontown; and she leaves behind 4 grandsons, Daniel Harrison and his wife Allie, Adam Harrison, Jared Benner and his wife Megan and Kobe Benner also 3 great-grandchildren Benjamin Harrison, Ella Harrison and Nora Harrison. In addition, she is also survived by her cousin Scott Thomas, of Williamsport.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her aunt and uncle, Miriam and Harry Thomas of Williamsport.

She was a 1958 graduate of Williamsport High School and a member of the Aldersgate United Methodist, Mifflintown. In her younger years she was a member of the Mifflintown Women’s Club and served as a girl scout leader, also she volunteered for Juniata Meals on Wheels.

She entered the workforce as a bank teller, where she met her husband. After marrying they moved to Mifflintown where she raised her own children and also provided child care to various families in the Mifflintown area. Later she was employed by the Tuscarora Intermediate Unit Mobile Dentist, where she loved the friendship of the entire staff. Next she was employed as a cashier at the Weis Market before retiring as the secretary of Fermanagh Twp.

Pat enjoyed attending Penn State Football and tailgating, going to card club, attending the road rally, and taking bus trips. Most of all, she cherished the family celebrations and vacations and the joy that her grandsons and great-grandchildren brought her.

A public graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 28, 2021 from the Adams Cemetery, Mifflintown with the Pastor Mindy Petrovcic officiating.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge Street, Mifflintown.
