Obituary for Helen J. Willow
Helen Jean (Landis) Willow, 89, of Ohesson Manor, Lewistown, formerly of Thompsontown passed away at 2:20 PM on Thursday, November 26, 2020, at the Manor.
Born on November 17, 1931, in Mifflintown, Juniata County, she was a daughter of the late Charles M. and Rebecca Ruth (Rickenbaugh) Landis. On March 19, 1949, she married her late husband, Richard I. Willow, with whom she was blessed to share more than 49 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on December 3, 1998.
Surviving are her children, Deborah R. Portzline and her husband James of Mount Pleasant Mills, Thomas R. Willow and his fiancé Teresa Dimm of Thompsontown, Theodore C. Willow and his wife Patricia of McAlisterville, Rodger L. Willow and his wife Darlene of Thompsontown, Catherine W. Kauffman and her husband Randall of Mifflintown, and Patty J. Weiand and her husband Fred of Thompsontown; one brother, Ronald Landis and his wife Marjorie of Beavertown; one brother in law, Harry Leister of Harrisburg; fifteen grandchildren, twenty six great grandchildren, and one great great granddaughter..
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter in law, Sally Willow; one sister, Sue Leister; and one brother, Richard Landis.
Mrs. Willow was a homemaker and a member of the Free Spring Church of the Brethren in Mifflintown.
Helen enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles, and listening to Christian music, especially the Gaithers. In earlier life, she enjoyed camping with her family.
A Public Graveside Service will be held at 1:30 PM on Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2020 at the St. John’s United Methodist Church Cemetery, Red Bank Road, McAlisterville with Pastor Terry Smith officiating.
There will be no public viewing or visitation.
