Obituary for Thomas J. Campbell



Thomas J. Campbell, 77, of Mifflin (Academia), passed away at 12:00 a.m., Friday, November 20, 2020, at the Richfield Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

Born on November 6, 1943 in Burnham, Mifflin County he is a son of the late Gordon Sr. and Luella (Schaeffer) Campbell. On October 9, 1963, he married his surviving wife, Fay E. (Imes) Campbell with whom he was blessed to share over 57 years of marriage.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by: a daughter, Tennille E. Shetron and her husband Shane of Academia, two sisters, Carol Wagner and her husband Joe of Yeagertown, Nancy Evola and her husband Vincenzo of Mifflintown; a brother, Gordon “Scoop” Campbell Jr. of Lewistown; and a granddaughter Bailey Imes.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Linda Spagnoletti.

He was a 1962 graduate of Chief Logan High School and his memberships included formerly attended the
Lower Tuscarora Presbyterian Church, Academia and formerly attended the South Juniata Baptist Church, Honey Grove. He also was a member of the Stone Lodge Rod & Gun Club.

Mr. Campbell retired as a Lab Technician from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation with over 30 years of service and he had also served as a Beale Township Supervisor.

Tom enjoyed doing odd jobs around the house and spending time with his family.

A Public Graveside Service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at the Academia Cemetery with the Rev. John C. Park officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mr. Campbell’s memory may be made to Lower Tuscarora Presbyterian Church, 54 Church Road, Mifflin, PA 17058.
