Obituary for Earl L. Brewer
Earl L. Brewer, 76, of McAlisterville, passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2020 at Spring Creek Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Harrisburg.
Born on January 1, 1944 in St. Marys, WV, he was a son of the late Rennie Brewer.
On July 5, 2007, he married his surviving wife, Cathy A. (Mosel) Brewer with whom he was blessed to share over 13 years of marriage.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Elizabeth Brewer of Hummelstown, Melissa Brewer of Pine Grove, and Christopher Brewer of Harrisburg; step-children, Jeffery Shambaugh and his wife Ann of Thompsontown, Jennifer Winey and her husband Roger, and Wally Shambaugh and his wife Corri, all of Mifflintown; one sister, Betty Richards of West Virigina; one brother, Paul Robinson of West Virginia; four grandchildren, Alexandria Brewer, Ethan Zeigler, Ava Brewer, and Kirby Reichert; four step-grandchildren; and two great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Brewer and Lelan Smith.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by sisters Rita Laysfield and Mary Morris.
Mr. Brewer was employed and retired as a Laborer from the LiUNA Union Local 1180 in Harrisburg and also honorably served our country in the United States Air Force.
Earl was a member and attended the First Baptist Church of Juniata County where he was heavily involved in the church as a Head Usher, helped with Christian Education, and took care of maintenance around the church.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, visiting with friends, and helping those in need; however, his greatest joy came from time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, Nov. 9, 2020 at the First Baptist Church of Juniata County, 23964 Route 35 North, Mifflintown with Pastor Ronald Shupe and Chaplain Kent Carter officiating. Interment will follow at the Richfield Union Cemetery.
A Viewing will be held from 9:30 AM until the time of the funeral services at 10:30 AM on Monday at the Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mr. Brewer’s memory can be made to the First Baptist Church of Juniata County, 23964 Route 35 North, Mifflintown, PA 17059.
