Obituary for Gail L. Shellenberger

Gail L. Shellenberger, 64, of Mifflintown passed away at 3:48 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 1, 2020 at her residence.

Born on June 20, 1956 in Lewistown, Mifflin Co., she is a daughter of the late C. Richard “Dusty” and Phyllis (Leister) Shellenberger.

She is survived by: two daughters, Liza B. Balough and her husband Eric of Stafford, VA and Olivia M. Wise and her husband Skyler of Port Royal; three sisters, Tina G. Crim and her husband Bill of Mifflintown, Susan S. Mayer and her husband Keith of Lancaster, and Nancy L. Brackbill and her husband Doug of Mifflin; many nieces and nephews; two grandchildren, Isaac D. Balough and Ethan M. Balough; and one granddaughter on the way, Ophelia Rose Wise.

Ms. Shellenberger was a 1974 graduate of Juniata High School and was a member and attended Cedar Grove Brethren in Christ Church in Mifflintown.

Gail was employed by Cedar Grove Brethren in Christ Church for over 18 years as an Administrative Assistant and Office Manager. More recently, she was an Administrative Assistant for Century 21 Above and Beyond in Mifflintown.

She enjoyed gardening and cooking; however, the most important thing to her was the time cherished with friends and family.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, Nov. 5, 2020 at Cedar Grove Brethren in Christ Family Life Center, 287 Deerville Road, Mifflintown with the Rev. Howard Houtz officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Mifflintown.

A Closed Casket Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral services at 11:00 AM on Thursday in the Family Life Center.

The family politely requests that due to the Covid-19 pandemic that all CDC guidelines be adhered to with mask wearing and social distancing.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ms. Shellenberger’s memory can be made to Cedar Grove Brethren in Christ Church, 287 Deerville Road, Mifflintown, PA 17059.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge Street, Mifflintown.
