Obituary for Mabel B. Beale (Bargo)

Mabel B. Beale, 98, formerly of McCoysville, passed away at 10:20 PM on Sunday, September 20, 2020 at the Locust Grove Retirement Village, Mifflin.

Born on January 11, 1922 in Burnham, Mifflin Co., she is the daughter of the late Merle and Esther (Warner) Bargo. On November 12, 1939, she married her late husband, Roy W. Beale, with whom she was blessed to share over 53 years of marriage before his passing on February 6, 1992.

Surviving are her daughter, Delores B. Henry and her husband Robert of Honey Grove; a son in law, Richard Smith of Mifflintown; two grandsons, Douglas Smith and his wife Michelle and Jeffrey Henry; and three great grandsons, Zachary Smith and his wife Michaelli, Aaron Smith, and Noah Smith.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Wanda B. Smith; and seven brothers, Merle Bargo, Jr., William Bargo, Howard Bargo, Richard Bargo, Raymond Bargo, Philip Bargo, and Clifford Bargo making her the last of her generation.

Mabel was employed by the Juniata County School District and retired after 25 years of service in the Cafeteria of the Lack Tuscarora Elementary School in Honey Grove.

She was a member of the McCoysville Presbyterian Church for over 80 years making her the oldest living member of the church.

In her younger days, she enjoyed tending to her flower garden and making meals for her family.

All Services will be private from the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown with the Rev. Graham C. Fowler officiating. Interment will be at the McCoysville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mrs. Beale’s memory may be made to the McCoysville Presbyterian Church, 2562 McCoysville Road, Mifflin, PA 17058.
