Obituary for Cherie E. Dressler



Cherie E. Dressler, 71, of Mechanicsburg, passed away at 9:21 PM on Friday, August 14, 2020 at the UPMC Pinnacle West Shore Hospital in Mechanicsburg.
Born on September 12, 1948 in Mechanicsburg, Cumberland Co., she is the daughter of the late Allen and Miriam (Early) Rohrbaugh.
On March 22, 1980 in Enola, PA, she married her surviving husband, Duval D. “Denny” Dressler with whom she was blessed to share over 40 years of marriage.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by: her children, Darlene D. Dunn and her husband James of East Bend, NC, Clayton D. Dressler and his wife Kim of Palmyra, Allen L. Paulus and his wife Lynda of Sorrento, LA, and Brian E. Paulus and his wife Melissa of Six Mile, SC; one sister, Carol Kimmel and her husband Bill of Enola; one brother, Ralph Rohrbaugh and his wife Kathy of Orion, IL; eleven grandchildren, Hannah Dunn, Brayden Dressler, Danton Dressler, Liam Thomas, Kendra Paulus, Jennifer Paulus, Sean Paulus, Jeremy Paulus, Noah Paulus, Adalissa Paulus, and Miriam Paulus; and one great grandson, Ellis Lemoine.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Jake Rohrbaugh.
She was a 1967 graduate of Boiling Springs High School and was a proud homemaker.
Cherie enjoyed planning weddings for her family and friends; loved making crafts where family members were always treated to her handmade greeting cards that she made for every occasion and also spent many years on the craft show circuit. Together, along with her husband, she worked with the K.A.R.S. 358 Sprint Series and belonged to the York County Racing Club where she was well known throughout the Central Pennsylvania Dirt Track Racing Community. She will be remembered for her care, love, and the times she loved to spend with her family, especially her children and grandchildren.
Public Graveside Services will be held at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at the Maze Cemetery in Thompsontown with Pastor Shelly Baker Brook officiating.
There will be no public viewing or visitation.
Memorial contributions in Mrs. Dressler’s memory can be made to the York County Racing Club Injured Drivers Fund, 568 Yale St., York, PA 17403.
