Obituary for Ronald S. "Buck" Nipple
Rev. Ronald S. “Buck” Nipple, 85, of Reedsville and formerly of Lewistown, went to be with his Lord and Savior at 4:37 a.m., Tuesday, July 21, 2020, at the Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.
Born on November 16, 1934 in Thompsontown, Juniata County, he is a son of the late Sharon Simon and Ruth Arelda (Long) Nipple. On November 8, 1955 at the Whiteland Evangelical United Brethren Church in Maze, he married his surviving wife, Mary Jane (Snyder) Nipple with whom he was blessed to share over 64 years of
marriage.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by: his five daughters, Sherry Bailor and her husband Ed of Millerstown, Sydnee Jones and her husband Jeff of Carlisle, Sharlene Jury and her husband Ronald of McAlisterville, Susan Myers and her husband William of Burnham, and Sally Annis and her husband Frank of Lewistown; one brother, Darwin Nipple and his wife Lynda of McAlisterville; one sister, Trudy Oberholtzer of Thompsontown; six grandchildren, William Myers, Justin Myers, Derek Baker, Gunnar Jones, Amanda Potter, Andrea Krepps, five great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Shirley Stuck and a brother, David Nipple.
Rev. Nipple was a graduate of Chamberlain High School in Tampa, FL and the Rhema Bible College in Broken Arrow, OK.
He began his employment as a Nurse at the Harrisburg State Hospital. Next, in 1960, he purchased the family dairy farm in Seven Stars, Juniata Co., PA where he and his family farmed. Then in 1979, he got the calling to enter the ministry, sold his dairy farm, and moved to Florida where he completed his high school studies. After that, he moved to Oklahoma where he completed his schooling at Rhema Bible College to become a Minister. Finally, he moved back home to Pennsylvania where he founded and pastored at the Light Ministries Full Gospel Church of Lewistown until his retirement.
In earlier life, Buck enjoyed riding his Indian Motorcycle and playing baseball for Crossroads, Burns Mill, Juniata County.
His hobbies included genealogy studies, carpentry, bottle collecting, hunting, and collecting Atlantic Gas memorabilia; however, his greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
A public graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 24, 2020 in the Maze Cemetery, Thompsontown with the Rev. David Patterson officiating.
There will be no viewing or visitation.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Rev. Nipple’s memory may be made to the Light Ministries Upper Room Prayer Chapel, 181 Caldwell Hill Road, Lewistown, PA 17044.
