Obituary for Debra L. Berry



Debra Lee Berry of Biglerville and formerly of East Waterford, unexpectedly entered into God’s eternal peace and care on July 10, 2020 at Gettysburg Hospital.
Born May 25, 1964 in Lewistown, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Ward Berry and Joan (Clouser) Berry-Swarner.
She is survived by her former husband and the father of her children John Irvin, her two daughters Cristal Ritchey and her husband Darren, of Biglerville and Jonda Irvin and her partner Terry Burdge, of Cross Keys; two granddaughters Alyssa and Breanne Ritchey of Biglerville, one sister Nina Berry, of Chambersburg, a niece Mary Kay Hackenberger of Manheim, a nephew Daniel Hackenberger of Port Royal.
She was preceded in death by her infant son James.
In 1982 she graduated from Juniata High School, Mifflintown. During the nineties, Debra was the proud small business owner of the Black Rose Tanning Salon in East Waterford. Throughout her lifetime she also enjoyed waitressing at various restaurants in Juniata County and later serving those in need through home health care.
Debra loved spending time with her family, her beloved dog Daisy, and going to the ocean. Her legacy will leave an impact on many and she will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A viewing will be held from 5-7 pm on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown. All other services and interment will be private.
