Obituary for Cornelia Ritzman (Horning)

Cornelia Ritzman, 86, of Richfield, passed away at 6:25 AM on Friday, April 24, 2020 at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

Born on August 17, 1933 in West Perry Twp., Snyder County, she is the daughter of the late Norman and Sylvia (Lauver) Horning.

On June 11, 1955, she married her surviving husband, David C. Ritzman, with whom she was blessed to share over 64 years of marriage.

She is survived by: her children, Robin A. Ritzman and his wife Valerie of Akron, OH, Mark N. Ritzman and his wife Penny of Millerstown, and James D. Ritzman and his wife Tambra of Thompsontown; one sister, S. Rae Eubank of Huntingdon; six grandchildren, Kurt Ritzman and his wife Chloe, Holly Beall and her husband Mark, Christy Krahel and her husband John, Karis Ritzman, Hannah Schilthuis and her husband Michael, and Elisabeth Ritzman; and two great grandchildren, Ivy Beall and Natalie Schilthuis.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Kermit Horning.

Mrs. Ritzman was a 1951 graduate of Fayette High School in McAlisterville and had attended Niemonds Independent Church in Richfield.

Cornelia enjoyed knitting, reading, and drinking tea with company, but most importantly, she cherished the time spent with her family and friends, especially her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Her presence and ability to make people feel welcome from the first time they met will be remembered and missed.

All services will be private with interment taking place at the Lost Creek Presbyterian Cemetery, McAlisterville.
