Obituary for Claire M. Foltz (Smith)
Claire M. Foltz, 96, of Mexico, passed away at 6:57 PM, Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at the Locust Grove Retirement Village, Mifflin.
Born on August 19, 1923 in Locust Run, Juniata County, she is the daughter of the late Ackinson E. and Emma (Hibbs) Smith. On August 19, 1941, she married her late husband, Ray F. Foltz Sr. with whom she was blessed to share 26 years of marriage before his passing on May 25, 1968.
She is survived by two sons, Ray F. Foltz Jr. and his wife Jo-Ann and Ronald Foltz and his wife Marjorie, all of Harrisburg; two daughter in laws, Rhea Foltz of Selbyville, DE and Sharon Foltz of Mechanicsburg; eight grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Leroy Foltz and Richard Foltz.
In earlier life, Mrs. Foltz was a Head Cook at the Juniata High School for 13 years and retired as a Dietary Supervisor at the Locust Grove Retirement Village after 17 years of service.
Claire was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Mexico.
Looking forward to hunting season every year, she always enjoyed having her boys and grandchildren around to cook for and hear all of their hunting stories. Most importantly, she cherished the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren who were her pride and joy.
All services will be private and officiated by Pastor Dan Kerlin. Interment will be at New Church Hill Cemetery, Port Royal.
