Willavene L. “Willie” Donaldson, 93, of McAlisterville, went to be with her Lord and Savior at 6:11 PM on Thursday, March 26. 2020 at the Richfield Senior Living Center.
Born on September 30, 1926 in Turbett Township, Juniata County she is the daughter of the late Harry O. and Janet R. (Neff) Lauver Sr. On December 20, 1944 she married her late husband, Jesse L. Donaldson with whom she was blessed to share more than 26 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on March 31, 1971.
Surviving are: four children, Kathi Griffin and her husband LeRoy of Newport News, VA, Nancy Smith and her husband Roy of McAlisterville, Rose Motter and her husband Bob of Marysville, Edward Donaldson and his wife Pamela of Carlisle, a daughter-in-law Madeline Donaldson of McAlisterville; eleven grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren with one on the way in July 2020.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two sons, George C. Donaldson II and James L. Donaldson; her second husband, Leroy Page; and her twin brother and sister, Harry Lauver Jr. and Eleanor Taylor Lease, making her the last of her generation.
Mrs. Donaldson was a 1944 graduate of Juniata Joint High School in Mifflintown and was retired as a seamstress from the former Nettie Frock’s Sewing factory. She will be remembered from her time working in the concession stand in the infield at the Port Royal Speedway from 1971 to 1996.
Willie enjoyed gardening, reading, knitting, and bowling; however, she cherished the time spent with her family and friends.
A Public Memorial Service is being scheduled and will be announced later.

I am so sorry to hear this news. My younger brother and I were just speaking of Aunt Sis recently. I wish that Gods loving hand is felt on the hearts of the family. May God Bless. Lana K Jester (niece)
