Obituary for Raymond P. Zimmerman

Raymond P. Zimmerman, 83, of Mifflintown, passed away at 9:15 a.m. on Monday, March 23, 2020, at Brookline Manor, Mifflintown.
Born on April 18, 1936, in Mifflintown, Juniata County, he was a son of the late Paul R. and Margaret E. (Strawser) Zimmerman.
One brother, Banks A. Zimmerman Sr., of Mifflintown and several generations of nieces and nephews survive Raymond.
A sister Patricia J. Lauver preceded him in death.
Mr. Zimmerman was a Methodist by faith and a 1955 graduate of Juniata Joint High School, Mifflintown.
He was a U.S. Army veteran having proudly served his country during the Vietnam War.
His memberships included a life member of the NRA, J.E. Bowen AMVETS Post No. 122, Thompsontown, Life member of the American Legion Post No. 298 and a member of the Crawford-Brubaker Post No. 5863, both Mifflintown.
Raymond retired in 1998 as a shipping clerk from the Protection Services of Harrisburg with 31 years of service.
All services will be private from the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown, with the Pastor Denise Haskins officiating. Interment will be in the Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery, Mifflintown, where the U.S. Army representatives will fold and present the flag for burial honors.
