Obituary for George A. Renno

George A. Renno, 72, of Souderton, Montgomery Co., formerly of Kellerville, passed away at 3:00 AM, Sunday, March 15, 2020 at Norriton Square Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Norristown.
Born on April 6, 1947 in Lewistown, Mifflin Co, he is the son of Betty A. (Leister) Renno of Mifflintown and the late George C. Renno.
He is survived by his children, Erik W. Renno and his fiancé Caitlin Bliven of Conshohocken and Kaelyn Derstine and her husband Nick of Harleysville; siblings, Stephen L. Renno, Gregory S. Renno, Roger D. Renno, Barry L. Renno and their families; and the family dogs, Dozer, Painter, Fiona, Myla, and the late Homer.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, Keith Renno.
George was a 1965 graduate of East Juniata High School in Cocolamus and a 1969 graduate of Penn State University with a degree in Psychology. At Penn State, he was a proud member of the University’s Rifle Team.
After college, his working career began in Philadelphia with the Pennsylvania State Welfare Department where he retired from after over 30 years of service. After his retirement from the State, he started his own sports photography business in Hatfield, PA.
His greatest joy was spending time with his children, Erik and Kaelyn. He loved the simple life and lived every day by a great motto, “Always be humble and kind.” His heart was always in the right place and will long be remembered as a selfless parent who always put his children first, was a wonderful role model, and a loving, nurturing Dad.
Mr. Renno’s interests included his love of nature, current events, history, and photography. He was described by many as kind, gentle, a great listener with an even temper, compassionate, and adventurous. He never had a bad word to say about anyone and in his children’s eyes, he was one in a billion!
Memorial Services will be held at 12:00 PM, Saturday, March 21, 2020 at the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown with the Rev. Gary Krabill officiating. Interment will follow at Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery, Mifflintown.
