Obituary for Margaret S. "Peggy" Adams



Margaret S. “Peggy” Adams, 86, formerly of Port Royal (Groninger Valley) and currently residing at Brookline Village, Mifflintown passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2020, at the village.

Born on January 17, 1934 in Delaware Township, Juniata County, she was the daughter of the late Harry O. and Margaret (Hall) Sieber Jr. On December 30, 1954 she married her late husband, Donald Q. Adams with whom she was blessed to share more than 63 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on March 9, 2018.

Surviving are, two daughters and their spouses, Mitzi Jacob and her husband David, of Folsom, CA, Susan Komlenic and her husband Rodney, of Mechanicsburg, a son: Donald Adams, of Harrisburg, a cousin, Rita (Wert) Zeigler of Millerstown who was like a sister to her and eight precious grandchildren and one great-grandson.

She was a 1952 graduate of Tuscarora Valley High School, Port Royal and a member of the Port Royal Presbyterian Church, the Mifflin Chapter No. 260 Order of the Eastern Star, and the Juniata County Republican Women.

Mrs. Adams was employed by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation in Mifflintown and later by the Department of Agriculture, Pennsylvania Bureau of Weights and Measures in Harrisburg.

She also, along with her late husband, owned and operated the DQA Dairy Farm in Groninger Valley.

Peggy loved taking trips to Ocean City, NJ with her family, enjoying flowers, mowing the lawn on the farm, shopping with her girls and cousins, as well as reading and life itself. Most important of all was her family, especially her husband, children and grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 14, 2020 from the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge Street, Mifflintown with the Rev. Crystal M. Lyde officiating. Interment will follow in the New Church Hill Cemetery, Port Royal.

Viewing will be held from 6 - 8 p.m., Friday, March 13, 2020, at the funeral home.
