Donald W. Anthony Sr., 90, of East Waterford, passed away at 10:45 p.m. on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at home.
Born on July 18, 1929 in Derry Township, Dauphin County, he was son to the late John and Mabel (Auxt) Anthony.
Surviving are his children, Donna Kmiecinski and her husband William, of Lebanon, Donald Anthony Jr. and his wife Helen, of Hummelstown, John Anthony and his wife Melody, of East Waterford, Stepchildren, Thomas Whalen and his wife Bernadine, of Frisco, TX, James Whalen and his wife Pamela, of Lewisberry, Elizabeth Sommer and her husband Charles, of Marysville, a sister, Doris Cave, of Enola and many grandchildren, also many great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey Anthony, and 2 daughters, Mabel Speck and Mary Katherine Anthony.
His memberships included the Blairs Mills Lions Club, the East Waterford Fire Co. and the Lack-Tuscarora EMS.
He was a proud veteran of the Korean War having served with the U.S. Marines.
In earlier life he started his career with the Pennsylvania Railroad, and he retired as a Civil Engineer from Conrail.
Donald enjoyed hunting, fishing if his health permitted. He was also an avid card player who enjoyed traveling, especially to Colorado.
A memorial meal will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Lack-Tuscarora EMS Building, 9320 Rt. 75 South, East Waterford with the Rev. Frank J. Swartz presiding. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mr. Anthony’s memory may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
