Obituary for Karen M. Arnold



Karen M. Arnold, 77, of Cocolamus, went home to be with the Lord at 5:04 AM on Sunday, December 29, 2019 at the Carolyn House in Harrisburg.

Born on November 27, 1942 in Mount Pleasant Mills, Snyder County, she is a daughter of the late Clayton and Luella Mary (Hoffman) Kerstetter.

On April 29, 1962, she married her surviving husband, Paul A. Arnold with whom she was blessed to share over 57 years of marriage.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by: two daughters, Nicole P. Shipp and her husband Dr. Robert Shipp III of Millerstown and Angie A. Houck and her husband Kevin Houck of Orlando, FL and; one brother,
Myron “Buck” Kerstetter of McAlisterville; and four grandchildren, Aiden Shipp, Dylan Shipp, Lily Houck, and Carter Houck.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Phyllis Kerstetter.

Karen was a 1961 graduate of Middleburg High School. She was employed and retired as the Vice President of Human Resources at Sedjwick James in Harrisburg. Along with her husband, they co-owned KNA Properties LLC.

Mrs. Arnold was a member of the Brown’s United Methodist Church in McAlisterville where her love of children showed as she worked in the church’s nursery for over 40 years.

Her interests included baking, decorating cakes, cooking, flowers, and being a proud farmer’s wife, but most all, she cherished the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 AM, Thursday, January 2, 2020 at the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 111 Westfall St., McAlisterville with Pastor Kevin Brophy and Rev. Robert Graybill, Jr. officiating.

Interment will follow at the East Salem Cemetery.

A viewing will be held from 10-11:30 AM on Thursday, January 2, 2020 at the funeral home.
