Obituary for Robert A. "Bob" Campbell



Robert A. “Bob” Campbell, 84, of East Waterford, went home to be with his Lord at 2:35 PM on Friday, December 6, 2019 at his residence.

Born on June 19, 1935 in East Waterford, Juniata Co., he is a son of the late Foster and Cora (Whitsel) Campbell.

On May 14, 1965, he was married to his surviving wife, Grace I. (Hockenberry) Campbell, with whom he was blessed to share more than 54 years of marriage.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Richard L. Campbell and his wife Jacqueline of Mifflintown, Donna J. Snyder and her husband Charlie, and John R. Campbell and his wife Lori all of East Waterford; siblings, Dorothy Sherlock of Academia, Clair Campbell and his wife Joyce of Blairs Mills, Vivian Berrier of East Waterford, and Donna Harrison and her husband Tom of Fayetteville; two sisters in law, Pauline Campbell of Camp Hill and Connie Campbell of East Waterford; nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Karen M. Wyland on May 31, 2017; one sister in infancy, Carol Campbell; two brothers, Ronald Campbell and Donald Campbell; and two brothers in law, Bob Berrier and Jim Sherlock.

Mr. Campbell was employed and retired as an Equipment Operator with James Craft and Son in York.

Robert was Methodist by faith and enjoyed country music especially Marty Stuart, the television show “Hee Haw,” the outdoors especially watching deer, and in his younger years, square dancing; however, he cherished the time spent with his family, especially with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. As a long time staple in the family’s garage, he will be remembered for his fun, youthful, and hardworking spirit.

All services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mr. Campbell’s memory can be made to the Lack Tuscarora EMS, 9320 Route 75 South, East Waterford, PA 17021 or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
