Obituary for Florence I. Woodward








Florence I. Woodward, 80, of Thompsontown, passed away at 12:06 PM on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at the Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.

Born on November 29, 1938 in Walker Township, Juniata Co., she is a daughter of the late Raymond L. and Beatrice J. (Gill) Willi. On December 21, 1998 she married her late husband, Roy H. Woodward who preceded her in death on September 21, 2002.

On December 25, 1998 she retired as a clerk from the Pa. Dept. of Revenue, Harrisburg with 16 years of service.

Surviving are her children: Cristopher N. Hile and family, Jonathan A. Hile and family, all of Mt. Pleasant Mills, Roger E. Rumberger of Thompsontown, stepchildren, Mrs. John (Rebecca)) Wilson Jr. and family of Mifflintown, Mrs. Todd (Ellen) Fettle and family of Milroy, Samuel Woodward and family of Thompsontown, and a sister Janet Zeiders and family of Thompsontown.

Mrs. Woodward was a member of the Thompsontown United Methodist Church, where she had taught Sunday school and was a member of the Church’s Willing Workers.

Florence enjoyed doing all kinds of crafts and taking bus trips.

Funeral Services will be private with her pastor the Rev. Andrew Burd-Harris officiating. Interment will be in the Union Memorial Gardens, Mifflintown.

A viewing will be held from 6-8 PM on Friday, July 12, 2019 at the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown.
