Obituary for Martha A. Fosselman



Martha A. Fosselman, 89, of Cocolamus, passed away at 12:07 AM on Friday, November 9, 2018 at the Bridges of Brookline, Mifflintown.
Born on February 4, 1929 in Mount Pleasant Mills, Snyder Co., she is the daughter of the late Herman and Anna (Walter) Mengle. On October 17, 1953, she was married to William A. “Bill” Fosselman with whom she was blessed to share more than 55 years of marriage before his passing on November 6, 2009.
Mrs. Fosselman is survived by: her children, Diane Hornberger of Richfield, Debra Brubaker and her husband Daryl of East Salem, Brenda Jones and her husband Randy of Mount Pleasant Mills, Karen Fosselman and her companion Dale Barge, Jr. of Selinsgrove, and Sheryl Walters and her companion Barry Aucker of Mount Pleasant Mills; grandchildren, Timothy Hornberger and his wife Allison, Jeffrey Brubaker and his wife Ashley, Kevin Walters, Cody Jones, Beth Young and her husband Matthew, Kristen Phillips and her husband Steve, Kimberly Brubaker, Briana Fosselman, and Leah Jones; great-grandchildren, Nicolas, Carter, and Reece Young, Ryder and Nevin Hornberger, and Addison and Austin Phillips; one brother, Leroy Mengle and his wife Loretta of York; one brother in law, Charles Cramer of Dillsburg;one sister in law, Faith Mengle of Mount Pleasant Mills; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son in law, Neil A. Hornberger; and siblings, Raymond Mengle, H. Palmer Mengle and his wife Betty, Glenn Mengle and his wife Fay, John Mengle, Dorothy Feltman and her husband Ralph, Luella Shellenberger and her husband Nevin, Arlene Cramer, and a brother in infancy.
Earlier in life, Martha, along with her husband and family, operated a poultry farm in Cocolamus.
She was a member of Niemond’s Independent Church and the McAlisterville Senior Center at the Lions Den; who enjoyed playing dominoes, quilting, and being a homemaker; however, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister whose greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 from the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 111 Westfall St., McAlisterville, with Pastor Ron Berrus officiating. Interment will follow in the Richfield Union Cemetery.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday, November 14 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral services at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
