Obituary for Lovina Sheerer (Bossler)

Lovina Sheerer, 95, of the Bridges at Brookline, Mifflintown passed away at 6:50 a.m. on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at Brookline.
Born on October 6, 1922 in Martinsburg, Blair County, she was a daughter of the late Carl C. and Reba (Smith) Bossler.
On January 12, 1946, she married her late husband, Ira W. Sheerer, whom she was blessed to share more than 53 years of marriage before he passed away on October 26, 1999.
She is survived by a son, Erica F. Sheerer and his wife Kathy of Harrisburg; and two granddaughters, Rachael Lopata and Kaitlyn Smith.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, James Bossler, Carl Alton Bossler, in infancy, two sisters, Darlene Freed and Aberdeen Sponic making her the last of her generation.
Mrs. Sheerer was a home maker, who was a member of the Centre Lutheran Church and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Mifflin Chapter No. 260, Mifflintown.
Lovina was a loving wife, mother and grandmother whose greatest joy came from spending time and taking care of her family. She also loved music, sharing with others and knitting when she could.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 111 Westfall St., McAlisterville with the Rev. Michael Sigler officiating. Interment will private in the Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Thompsontown.
There will be no viewing or visitation.
